How to use a clamp cylinder?

  • Clamp cylinder is for clamping use, and it can be applied in manual or auto loading and unloading work with control valve. There are clamp cylinder and rotary clamp cylinder per acting type.

  • ➤ Actuating principle of clamp cylinder

      DCK2:

    • Please make sure there is back pressure in cylinder to prevent from acting suddenly when switching actions.
    • When workpiece is in position, air source will get in the cylinder from rear cover port, then piston and main rod will be pushed up by air, and air will be exhausted from front cover port. Rod end accessory of main rod will be connected to clamping jig, when main rod actuates up, it will push clamping jig until clamp on workpiece.
    • When work is finished, air source will get in the cylinder from front cover port, then piston and main rod will be pulled back by air, and air in cylinder will be exhausted from rear cover port. When main rod is moved back, it will pull clamping jig, and clamping jig will release workpiece, once it opened fully, the workpiece can be moved out.
    • DCQ:

      • Please make sure there is back pressure in cylinder to prevent from acting suddenly when switching actions.
      • Place workpiece on cylinder, the guide pin will go through the hole of workpiece to position.
      • When workpiece is in position, air source will get in the cylinder from top port, then piston and main rod will be pushed down by air, and air in cylinder will be exhausted from bottom port. Main rod will pull connected tie rod and move down until clamp on workpiece.
      • When work is finished, air source will get in the cylinder from bottom port, then piston and main rod will be pushed up by air, and air in cylinder will be exhausted from top port. Main rod will push connected tie rod and move up, when tie rod moves into guide pin then the workpiece can be moved out.
  • ➤ Actuating principle of rotary clamp cylinder

    • Please make sure there is back pressure in cylinder to prevent from acting suddenly when switching actions.
    • When workpiece is in position, air source will get in the cylinder from top port, then main rod and clamping plate will descend, and air in cylinder will be exhausted from bottom port. Main rod will rotate 90˚ during descending.
    • After 90˚ rotation, the clamping plate will turn to side from front side. And main rod and clamping plate are continuing to descend straightly but not to rotary until clamp on workpiece.
    • When work is finished, air source will get in the cylinder from bottom port, then main rod and clamping plate will rise, and the air in cylinder will be exhausted from top port. Main rod will rise straightly and won’t be rotated during rising.
    • Main rod will start to rotate when it rises straight to the end of stroke, and it will continue to rise during rotation. After 90˚ rotation, the clamping plate will turn to front side, and main rod will stop rising, then you can move workpiece.
